Today’s blog post is a guest post written by a friend of mine, Christy. She wrote this with her whole heart and I hope you are inspired as much as I am.

“There’s an old poem; Old McDonald’s farm (you could check it out later on), the purpose of this poem like so many others, was so kids could learn faster, even though all we did was scream E-I-E-I-O at intervals.

The poem went on to talk about the different animals and give their respective sounds, all different in one way or the other.That way, when kids saw a cow for instance, they knew it “mooed” and not “quacked” like the duck.

I don’t know about you, but it’s amazing to me how these animals without the thinking faculty of a human, somehow manage to make their own unique sounds, each differing from the other, kind of like a huge signboard.
It makes one wonder how humans with brilliant features, each posessing unique skill and talents have somehow made it their life’s worth to appear the same. Over a billion humans, and we’ve successfully managed to form a goo of monotony. Granted, we’re all in a rush to become the next big thing and make cool cash but it’s not an excuse to lack creativity or “abscond from doing your own thing” (your God-given purpose if you will). Of course, “Your special thing” may take time to be harnessed and will require hard work, but when it comes out, it does so beautifully and you are filled with so much inner peace.

That’s the beauty behind having your own special thing; it is simply yours! Of course, you may not be the only one with the said talent, (let’s say singing… lots of musicians out there these days)but when it’s your purpose and you’ve truly made it yours, it doesn’t appear bland but rather unique and fulfilling, to yourself and to those around you.
So, having taken out time to go through this piece, I earnestly hope you take out time to prune yourself and simply be as unique as you can be. Be remembered in the sands of time and leave your sound in the hearts of men !”
